Exercise 1: Animating Using Tableau Pages

In the first exercise, we’ll create a basic scatterplot and then we’ll use the Tableau Pages shelf to set the marks in our scatterplot into motion. Finally, we’ll adjust the Pages controls to add and format tails.

Instructions:

1. Connect a new Tableau Public workbook to the text file “PhonesWaterSanitation.csv”. The file is located towards the bottom of this page.
2. Create a scatterplot with Mobile Cellular Subscriptions on the y-axis, Basic Sanitation Access on the x-axis, and a circle for each country sized by Population and colored by Region
3. Add Year to the Pages shelf and click the Play button to animate the scatterplot.
4. Use the Pages control to add and format tails
